BSP and BDO Foundation Make Learning About Money Easier Online

To help more Filipinos gain practical knowledge about money, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and BDO Foundation have teamed up once again—this time launching six new financial education e-learning modules. With these additions, they’ve completed their goal of releasing a total of nine easy-to-access modules on the BSP E-Learning Academy platform.

BSP Governor Eli Remolona Jr. emphasized the importance of financial education in his message, saying it plays a key role in helping people understand essential money matters that affect both their personal lives and the economy.

“Central banks need to be bilingual. Fluent not only in market speak, but also in inclusive language that resonates with the public. This is where financial literacy comes in. To make people understand policies better, institutions like the BSP should communicate more clearly and effectively. This fosters engagement, informed financial decisions, and a more inclusive economy,” he shared.

The latest modules cover everyday money topics like:

  • Basics of Investing

  • Fraud and Scams

  • Financial Consumer Protection

  • Digital Financial Literacy

  • Personal Equity and Retirement Accounts (PERA)

  • Understanding BSP’s Role in the Economy

These build on the first three topics released back in 2024: Financial PlanningBudgeting and Saving, and Debt Management.

One of the first to make use of these learning tools was TESDA, which included the initial modules in its TESDA Online Program. Now, the agency is gearing up to add the latest batch to help its learners grow more confident in handling finances.

BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito thanked all the partners who continue to push this shared advocacy forward. He stressed how important it is to keep innovating, so that learning about money doesn’t just stay in classrooms—it becomes accessible to everyone, anytime, anywhere.

“Trust that BDO Foundation will remain committed to the task of ensuring that more Filipinosare equipped with the right tools and knowledge that would lead us closer to our goal of financial inclusion,” he underscored.

Soon, these e-learning modules will also be available through the platforms of other partner institutions, bringing them closer to more communities.

As a long-time supporter of the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, BDO Foundation has been working hand-in-hand with BSP and other partners to roll out programs aimed at educating different groups across the country.

United for a cause. BSP, TESDA, and BDO Foundation stand side by side in their commitment to making financial literacy part of every Filipino’s journey.
