Manila Water rallies barangay participation in July desludging roll-out

Manila Water continues its commitment to clean and healthy communities with the rollout of its July desludging program across the East Zone of Metro Manila and parts of Rizal Province. The company urges residents to take part in this essential service, which helps prevent environmental pollution and promotes public health.



To ensure residents are well-informed and prepared, Manila Water conducts its information, education, and communication (IEC) program ahead of each scheduled service. In partnership with local government units and barangay offices, the IEC sessions provide households with important information about the desludging process, its benefits, and the steps they need to take before service day.



“Desludging is a shared responsibility, and through our IEC program on sanitation, we make sure communities are equipped with the knowledge they need to participate actively,” Manila Water Communication Affairs Group Director Jeric Sevilla said.



For July, Manila Water desludging trucks and ground personnel will be deployed in the following barangays: San Jose in Antipolo; San Isidro in Taytay; San Pedro in Angono; Mambog, Layunan, Libis, and Libid in Binangonan; San Jose, San Isidro, and Balite in Montalban (Rodriguez); Ampid II and Banaba in San Mateo; Gulod Malaya, Silangan, Sta. Elena, and Industrial Valley Complex in Marikina; Rosario, Santolan, and Buting in Pasig City; Alicia, Pasong Tamo, Loyola Heights, Bagong Pag-asa, San Roque, Ramon Magsaysay Damayang Lagi, and Holy Spirit in Quezon City; Balong Bato, Ermitanyo, Pedro Cruz, Little Baguio, and Maytunas in San Juan City; and Poblacion and Mabini-J. Rizal in Mandaluyong City.

 

Regular desludging not only ensures the proper functioning of septic systems—it also plays a vital role in protecting water sources, reducing pollution, and promoting community health. By participating in this service, residents contribute to a cleaner environment and a safer, more resilient neighborhood for all.
