Below are the pics of the pieces of artwork displayed in the Art MOD Fair held in Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall on the 9th-11th of June. In my experience, an hour is not enough to appreciate all the displays. The quality of the crafts and paintings only shows how talented the Filipino is and that our crafts are world-class.

Migs Salazar
Allanrey 'miguel' Salazar is a Filipino artist based in Paris. Salazar's art traverses the intersection of beauty and thinking. His works doesn’t sit still. Just when you think you settled on what is all about, it takes you by the hand down another corridor.
His work rests at the nexus of hard and soft, clean and dirty…it captures the plight of the individual-struggle, faith, ecstasy-and the frailty of humankind. There’s nothing about the images of his works that is harmonious beautiful by any conventional standards. Salazar wanted the viewer to stock with the image as profoundly, resonant image that will not deliver its real physical meaning, it is against narrative and probably against interpretations; it’s pure allegory and metaphor.
After moving to Germany and Paris from Manila more than a decade ago, Allanrey “miguel” Salazar is among the few Filipino artist who live their passion for art in Paris. His recent body of works is a radical departure from abstract to cataclysmic biblical iconography with secular socio-religious and political narrative, a visual satire in his creative piece. His works elucidate current socio-political concerns dealing with matters of human condition, revealing plight of individuals - struggle, faith, ecstasy and doom in mankind. However with his craft, Salazar’s works involved in a cultural rebellion – a connection of social and political revolution from mind to mind.
He took brief studies of Fine Arts in École National des Beaux-Art in Paris, though simultaneously exploring passionately other mediums. For more than a decade, He has produced a diverse body of works in painting, sculpture, photography and other medium. He is amongst the most active Filipino artist in France, with solo exhibitions hosted mainly in Paris. Furthermore, he brings unique perspective, creativity and passion to all that he does. He lives and works in Paris.
Jose Glenn Blanco
The artist is the eldest of seven siblings of the Blanco Family of artists of Angono, Rizal. The family is known for folk realism that portrays the so-called Tagalog Pastorale.
Blanco’s works became noted for their realistic and detailed portrayal of the local flora, which evokes the tranquility of nature. They are also products of his fascination over the rural life and social rituals of Angono. Blanco’s works are classified into three thematic areas- landscapes, rural life and social arituals.
Blanco has been part of his family exhibits in Beijing, China (1986), Singapore (1990), San Francisco (1991) , Seville, Spain(1992)and in New York in 1999 and 2005. In 2012, he held his first solo exhibit at SM Taytay. He was awarded as the Outstanding Alumni of the University of Santo Tomas, College of Arts and Letters in 2013 and the TOTAL 2014 Award, The highest award given to alumni of UST for his contribution to Philippine art. He was also awarded the Angono, Rizal’s Sanguniang Bayan Award 2016 for his artistic excellence. He is one of the 12 Filipino artists whose works were featured in Art Dialogo held in Malaysia in July 2016.

Happy and Viva are the two names you will remember when thinking of F*ART. Not so fast! I'm talking about Fashion Art! This unique, trendy and funky gallery is composed of three stories wherein clothes and accessories can be found on the ground floor, the walls on the right of the stairs are filled with framed cool magazine covers, on the 2nd floor are more dresses by Happy Andrada (an international muti-awarded fashion designer and co-owner of F*ART), and finally the top floor is where parties and programs are held.
Speaking of parties, F*ART held one for its 10th anniversary yesterday, June 10th graced by friends of the owners, artists, comedians, fashionistas, bloggers, and their friends from the media. We enjoyed sweet treats by Viva-Adrada-O'Flynn, a multi-awarded pastry chef now based in the UK and co-owner of F*ART.
Instagram-worthy food presentation was witnessed. It was mesmerizing, nobody dared to touch it at first. It was a work of art by Aperitif. Different kinds of cheese, savory meat, fruits, pastries, veggies, nuts, and other delish food was there on the cart.
Selfies on the gallery is a given, considering the beautiful interiors, decors and clothes. We also had our photos taken with jif videos by Pose and print photo booth.
F*ART is where Pinoy fashion designers, artists and fashionistas can all showcase their talents and freshest collection, and mingle. There is no limit to the possibilities. There's a guaranteed find for everybody; Customize the clothes and accessories you want and need. The gallery offers fabulous, hip creations. Food alley? Food parks are sprouting in the metro and this is one of the many that opened this year. Is it worth the trip? Read on to find out! With its attractive signage, entertainment facilities for children, bright lights, colorful facade and fantastic food choices, I bet news about this place spread by word of mouth. It recently got featured in Television.
Pizza Station
Their Pepperoni and Overload pizza is a must-try for its generous toppings, non-greasy and soft crust. Pizza station offers affordable and freshly baked pizza without compromising the quality.
Dampa Simply Lang Illongo's Grill:
This stall's buttered shrimp is savory and perfectly cooked. I also loved how creamy and cheesy the Baked mussels are. Both seafood dishes are fresh and well-seasoned. The stall also offers a wide range of Filipino dishes. Their Sisig was succulent, crunchy , with generous chunks of onion and just a kick of spiciness. If you want to wash out your palate with all those flavors, green mangoes and shrimp paste combination is the way to go.
Tap Out
This stall's burger serving might make you tap out from being full. Their burgers are generously sized with ample servings of lettuce, tomatoes, and onion while the beef is well seasoned . They also have a burger that has an additional spam on the ingredients. The burger will not be complete without its cheese smothering and decks of patties stacked up together. The burgers can be served with potato chips and Quesadilla.
Genghis Mongolian
Create your own bowl is this stall's concept for its customer. Both sweet and spicy bowl are packed with different kinds of vegetables, slices of chicken and beef, and their chewy flavorful noodles topped with peanut sauce. I personally prefer the spicy flavor as the sweet one can be a bit overwhelming.
Nippon Ichi Takoyaki
The Takoyaki was cooked to a perfect brown, shredded pieces of cabbage are in the mixture. I can only taste a hint of octopus. This is perfectly paired with a sweet or spicy sauce. Get one solo glass of Juice Colored drink for free when you buy three Takoyakis.
Core Freeze
Watching the stall make their Nitrogen ice cream is quite entertaining. After the 'smoke' subsides make sure to bite into it in small pieces as it gets extra hard. They also offer a variety of delectable ice cream topped with chocolate or Pepero.
The store is inviting with its jar full of chocolates and an upper shelf filled with board games that you can play with. A mini pink table and mat is set up in the middle for kids dining in. Scramble took me back to my childhood days, the mixture is a recreation of my favorite treat yet it has its own unique taste. The Blueberry and Mango shake is creamy, delectable and the taste of the fruit stood out plus it was served with a chocolate spoon on top. The crepe has this rich creamy taste that blended well with the banana.
The amusing name originating from a famous expression equally offers fun flavors to enjoy. The bright colors of these beverages are easy on the eyes. Red iced tea is for the sweet tooth, I had to sip just a bit of it as it is overwhelming for my preference. Blue lemonade, on the other hand has the right blend of sour and sweet which is right for my taste.
So is it worth the trip to this food haven? The answer is a resounding yes! Their complete address is 111 Bayan-Bayanan Ave, Marikina, Open from 4PM-12AM daily.
