Mercury, a Filipino alternative soul/rock band, expresses a form of love that has no boundaries in their new song "ENOUGH," which is available today via Sony Music Entertainment.
Written collectively by the band themselves, the song deals with acknowledging how relationships grow stronger over time when creating compromises and weathering storms as partners and as individuals.
The eclectic trio shares, “ENOUGH was all about the doubt you had in your relationship. It’s a whole cloud of questions in your head where you wonder if you’re worth it to someone knowing the kind of things that you go through as a human. You mess up, you make mistakes, and all the insecurities you have sort of manifests and affect your relationship. But in this bombardment of doubt and struggle, you realize that that person would love you regardless of the mistakes you made, regardless of the things you’ve done. With that kind of love in your life, that is something that you can never get enough of.”
Co-produced by frequent collaborator and former bandmate knōwmaad, “ENOUGH” marks the band’s return to their rock-leaning roots, incorporating a brooding, bass-heavy sound with edgier sensibilities. It’s not as groovy as their previous set of songs, but the track stand outs on a production level with darker atmospherics and trademark cross-genre approach.
The song, which serves the second track from of Mercury’s upcoming EP CHANGIN VOL 3, was conceived during the band’s remote songwriting session in Tagaytay City during the quarantine period.
“After the whole production and writing process, we cleaned up everything, and re-tracked vocals and guitars back in the studio. It was a reinvigorating experience.”
of Mercury’s “ENOUGH” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

Huawei launched Asia Pacific Seeds for the Future 2022 last Friday (August 19). The program will bring together 120 outstanding students from 16 countries across the Asia Pacific region for a 9-day digital boot camp in Thailand, including 10 students from the Philippines. From August 19 to 27, ten Filipino delegates who are ready to demonstrate their talent and abilities will join the journey this year.
The opening ceremony was attended by both local government officials and representatives of multiple international organizations. They highlighted the important role multi-party collaboration plays in creating a solid foundation for the region's digital talent ecosystem.
Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Dato Lim Jock Hoi stressed that digital talent will be the driving force in the construction of a Digital ASEAN: “The private sector can play a pioneering role in realising this vision. In this regard, I commend Huawei Asia Pacific’s initiative: Seeds for the Future Program. This project underscores the long-term commitment of Huawei to collaborate and prepare the ASEAN youth for the changing world of work and industry’s demands. I hope that such efforts could also be extended to the other ASEAN Member States.”
Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation, Dr. Ms. Yang Mee Eng said: “The growth of ASEAN Digital Economy is entirely dependent on the capability of the region’s young people to participate in it. To nurture a generation of digitally savvy and innovative problem solvers, it is pivotal for stakeholders of ASEAN to create a robust learning ecosystem that allows our youth to advance their digital skills.”
Director for the ICT Industry Development Bureau of DICT in the Philippines, Ms. Emmy Lou V. The ‘Seeds’ have grown to a global ‘forest’.” “Digitalization is the driving force for our future. Talent is the key to digital transformation and sustainable growth. We deeply believe that the young generation will grow as the constructors of Asia Pacific when pursuing their tech-dreams.” Simon Lin added. From today, they would embark on a cultural and digital journey filled with site visits including the United Nations Regional Hub in Bangkok, the Metaverse Expo, and the Grand Palace in Bangkok. At the same time, the participants will be provided training in cutting-edge technologies like 5G, AI, and cloud computing from industry-leading experts.
During the digital camp, the participants will be expected to team up and create a "Tech4Good" pitch where they will share their visions for a better digital world. The Lemery Pilot Elementary School (LPES) in Batangas through the Sinag Schools program is recently powered up by SM Foundation (SMFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of the SM group, together with Maxeon Solar Technologies.
This collaboration between SMFI and Maxeon aims to provide clean and renewable energy to schools in grassroots communities by installing solar panels on SM school building, especially for those that have low operating expenses.
In addition to the solar panel installation which intends to power positive transformation in the way, energy is consumed in public schools. The program also aims to strengthen the understanding of students in terms of energy management and the need to transition to cleaner energy alternatives with lower environmental impacts.
“Through this program, we want to power up the learning and development of young people. We want to help teach young people about solar energy, about renewable energy. We want to power up the next generation to help save our planet,” Maxeon Fab4 General Manager Glenn Everett said.
The SM school building at the LPES, which was donated by SMFI in partnership with SM Prime Holdings (SMPH) in 2017, now boasts with 21 solar panels—estimated to produce 6510 watt-p. With this electricity savings, the school may realign its budget to more innovations that will give the students an environment more conducive to learning.
It takes a village to raise a child
SMFI executive director Debbie Sy highlighted the importance of collective efforts in advancing the learning experience of every student in the country: “We believe that collaboration can drive growth and become a force for good in addressing societal challenges. CSR partnerships can create solutions that improve society by fostering learning, promoting innovation, and gaining access to new technologies, such as the Sinag schools program. CSR collaboration can pool resources, both financial and human resources - between multiple organizations which can amplify social good impact.”
“The establishment of an ever-evolving CSR strategy and partnerships will help companies and non-government organizations in developing and implementing crucial social good programs over decades while having procedures in place that integrate social and environmental priorities into CSR core strategy – all in close collaboration with stakeholders,” she further added.
Moreover, Everett mentioned how SMFI and Maxeon share a similar set of values and interests when it comes to helping Filipino learners: “We have this concept of powering positive change in the world. We are happy to be working together with SM Foundation to power up the Lemery Pilot Elementary School.”
“Individually, we can do so much. But together we can do actually more. For us to bring our solar technology and SMFI to bring in their schools, these things are much better together than they would be apart,” he concluded.
Spreading social good all the way
