Twenty-year-old professional skateboarder and newly announced Red Bull Athlete, Margielyn Didal, is ready for the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in the Philippines this December.
To prepare for her upcoming competitions, Didal underwent months of therapy at Cardia Olympia coupled with an intense assessment last July at the Red Bull High Performance Training Center in Santa Monica, California to address lingering injuries.
To prepare for her upcoming competitions, Didal underwent months of therapy at Cardia Olympia coupled with an intense assessment last July at the Red Bull High Performance Training Center in Santa Monica, California to address lingering injuries.
“Last December 2014, I had a very severe ankle sprain that didn’t seem to get better,” reveals Didal. “Until recently, it affected my skating because I kept thinking it might happen again.”
Her assessment included a series of exercises that improved her flexibility and core reflexes, which allowed her to build up confidence. In addition, Didal worked on fine-tuning her trick executions.
“The best part about them (Red Bull) is when they would torture me during rehab,” joked Didal. “But really, they have the best team, therapist and equipment. They helped so much - especially with my ankle concerns and other key areas. Now we’re focusing on a lot of ways to improve my skills.”
Didal’s effective rehab program helped lead to a 5th place finish at the recently concluded Street League Skateboarding (SLS) World Tour in Los Angeles, California, establishing her as the highest-ranked Filipino skater in the world today.
With a top-10 finish at the SLS World Tour, Didal has her sights set on a podium finish at this year’s SEA Games in order to secure her place at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

“I’m always prepared and ready to compete, no matter where it is. That’s why I recently spent time in Rio de Janeiro/Los Angeles to get the best place training possible. I’ve also got some new tricks prepared but will stick to the game plan.”
Inspiring Future GenerationsSpending her early years borrowing skateboards in order to practice around abandoned building and the bustling streets of Cebu, Didal was able to build up her prominence, find the right sponsors like New Balance that helped her secure spots in major tournaments around the world.
Regarded by Time Magazine as one of the “25 Most Influential Teens of 2018”, Didal took home the gold medal at the 2018 Women’s Street Skateboarding Event at the Asian Games. She is also the first Filipino of any gender to compete at the X-Games.
With a series of historic accomplishments, Didal has established herself as one of the top skaters in the world today. And as such, she has become an influential figure among aspiring athletes in the Philippines.
I’m honored to be an inspiration to the next generation of skaters,” Didal admits. “In the future, I am keen on doing more projects like clinics to share with them what I’ve learned.”

Following the disastrous earthquakes that struck Mindanao, which left displaced residents without access to potable water, the Coca-Cola System in the Philippines immediately mobilized volunteers and resources to facilitate the donation of Wilkins™ water.
Through its nationwide network of 19 bottling plants, employee volunteers, and NGO partners such as the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, Caritas Manila, and other organizations, the Coca-Cola System has thus far provided over 115,000 liters of Wilkins™ water to communities severely hit by the devastating earthquakes.

From day zero, Coca-Cola mobilized its resources to contribute to the relief efforts. Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. President and CEO Gareth McGeown, with CCBPI’s local Davao team, led the delivery of Wilkins™ water to the hardest-hit areas in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; they were received by Magsaysay Mayor Arthur Davin. Wilkins™ water was likewise distributed to Digos, Davao del Sur; and Tulunan, Kidapawan, Makilala, and Magpet, in Cotabato. More Wilkins™ water— close to 34,560 liters—are on their way from nearby Coca-Cola bottling plants and distribution centers.
The Coca-Cola System is also working with the Tagum City Council of Women Foundation Inc. on the deployment of Coca-Cola’s SETA machine—a mobile water plant that treats water to make it clean and potable—in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Groundbreaking debut

Ultraelectromagneticpop! made waves in the summer of 1993 with songs such as “Tindahan ni Aling Nena,” “Pare Ko,” “Ligaya,” and “Toyang” becoming seminal hits. The Eraserheads’ first major label record not only catapulted the band into the canon of OPM greats, but also ushered into the Pinoy rock explosion of the ‘90s.
“It was also the album that proved that anyone can make music,” shares The Eraserheads’ Ely Buendia. Initially recorded on a shoestring budget, the record is currently being archived by the University of the Philippines Center for Ethnomusicology for its massive cultural importance.
Remastered vinyl release

25 years after its groundbreaking release, the debut album from the alt rock legends is finally out in vinyl format for the very first time with limited pressing of 2,500 copies only.
During its pre-order period last month, the first batch of 25th anniversary vinyl reissue of Ultraelectromagneticpop! immediately sold out in less than four minutes, setting another unprecedented record in local music history.
The Eraserheads Ultraelectromagneticpop! 25th Anniversary Numbered Limited Edition vinyl are pressed at Record Technology Incorporated (RTI) Camarillo, California, and packaged using premium quality Old Style Tip-On Gatefold Jackets by Stoughton Printing Company.
Music fans and vinyl junkies will surely enjoy this audiophile-grade release, which was exceptionally remastered by Bernie Grundman. The renowned audio engineer, who was responsible for giving the album a more pristine makeover, has worked on several critically acclaimed recordings including Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Prince’s Dirty Mind, and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic.

Ely Buendia also personally handpicked the Grammy Award-winning maestro after collaborating with him on Apartel’s sophomore album, Full Flood. “You don’t give Bernie Grundman instructions, you just trust his ears,” shares the Offshore Music head honcho and The Eraserheads’ frontman. “The remaster sounds bigger and clearer to me.”

Can regular exercise make your hair grow? Although hair growth never comes as a direct cause by exercise, mental and physical health challenges may interrupt the hair’s normal growth process which may lead to hair loss. However, regular cardio exercise for example, can help improve your health and mood — discouraging any breaks in the natural hair growth cycle.
Coach Jim and Toni Saret, The National Youth Commission (NYC), ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy artists, together with the leading hair loss treatment in the country NOVUHAIR, nature’s answer to hair loss, officially launched “FITFIL YOUTH AGAINST DRUGS (and Obesity)” at SM Mall of Asia By the Bay last November 16, 2019.
