SM and BFP 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Fire Drill

SM malls in Baliwag, Marilao and Pulilan in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection recently conducted the 2nd SM and BFP Nationwide Simultaneous Fire Drill with the participation of mall employees, agency personnel and tenants.

The activity led by SM Supermalls aims to test the response capability of the mall’s Fire Brigade Team. The simulated fire drill was held in all SM Malls nationwide.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and SM City Baliwag Emergency Response Group joined forces at the recent 2nd Nationwide Simultaneous Fire Drill.

SM malls in North Luzon, including SM City Baliwag, SM City Marilao and SM Center Pulilan with their Fire Brigade team members demonstrated their mastery of evacuation drill and showed their fire-fighting skills with the use of fire extinguishers and fire hose.

SM City Baliwag took part in the nationwide simultaneous fire drill with demonstrations of evacuation and quick rescue operations.

Dedicated firefighters and mall staff braved the weather to ensure the community's safety during the fire drill at SM City Marilao.

The partnership of BFP and SM Supermalls is one of the ways in which SM amplifies its commitment to contribute to the creation of risk-resilient societies and promote a global and
national culture of disaster risk reduction and resiliency. The public-private partnership (PPP) of SM and BFP gives priority to the constant training of SM’s personnel to respond to disasters, including earthquakes and destructive fires. This will help ensure the safety of SM’s stakeholders, including customers, tenants, employees, nearby communities and the general public.

This partnership demonstrates the progress made by the two entities in preventing disaster risks and losses of lives, livelihoods, and health—in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.
