Dining out gets boring sometimes and it takes creative food to get our appetite going. A group of food enthusiasts, including me, were invited to try The Barn at UP town center. I just love that place: spacious, elegant and romantic.
Brown Butter Tanigue: Spanish Mackerel, Brown Butter sauce, Chives, Alfalfa.
Buter Garlic Chicken: Whole fried Chicken, Clarified Butter, Garlic chips, Soy Garlic, Chives.
Crab Mac n Cheese: Crab Meat, Macaroni, Cheddar, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Chives.
Beef Shank: Bulalo Shank, French Beans, Bok Choi, Corn Cob, House Gravy.
Farmhouse Pizza: Proscuitto, Arugula, Balsamic Glaze, Tomato Confit, Mozzarella.
House blend Iced tea. I think I had 3 of these
The food was tasty and the portions were adequate. The experience was just incredible! Butter Garlic Chicken was my bet: the skin was similar to a famous local resto's specialty but has extra flavor coz of Garlic. Farmhouse pizza passed my taste not only for my love of pizza but it's also due to a mixture of my favorite ingredients. A cured ham called Proscuitto, Mozarella, and Arugula leaves. Eating pizza with leaves on it was a first for me. Potato Shrimp balls were dressed with Aligue Mayo which gave it a unique taste. The Barn Salad was equally appetizing while Crab Mac n Cheese is perfect for sea food lovers. Everybody else's favorite was Beef Shank and I can not argue with them. The Beef was just so tender!
It is definitely a place where you can chill out. Creative food and excellent music, that's just what I need.
