MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that Steven Adams of the Oklahoma City Thunder, former NBA coach Reggie Theus, and the Laker Girls will attend NBA 3X Philippines presented by AXA from July 22-23 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. Registration for NBA 3X Philippines 2017 begins today on a first-come first-serve basis at www.nba3x.com/philippines and runs until July 14 or until all slots are full.
NBA 3X Philippines 2017 will feature a 3-on-3 tournament featuring men’s and women’s teams of all skill levels as well as NBA entertainment throughout the weekend. The 2017 edition of NBA 3X Philippines will begin with a preliminary tournament July 15-16 at Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati that will determine the participants in the finals at the SM Mall of Asia. Additionally, the league will conduct an NBA Cares clinic for 10-14-year-old boys and girls at the indoor court of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Engineering on July 19.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the Filipino fans and experiencing the country’s vibrant culture,” said Adams. “I’m also excited to work with the talented athletes from across the Philippines at NBA 3X.”

Adams, a 7’0” center from New Zealand, was drafted 12th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2013 NBA Draft. He was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2014. During the 2016-17 season, Adams averaged 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1 block per game.
Theus was drafted 9th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 1978 NBA Draft and selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 1979. A two-time NBA All-Star, Theus played 13 seasons in the NBA before playing internationally. He was named head coach of Sacramento Kings during the 2007-08 season before becoming an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2009-2011. He is currently the head coach of Cal State Northridge in the NCAA.

Last May 24 to 28, 2017 Puregold had its annual Tindahan Ni Aling Puring Convention (TNAP) at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. I chanced upon a spa near my residence during my rare visit back home in Quezon City. It was in Bristol street which is a few blocks away from the entrance of Lagro. Curiosity got the best of me but more than that is my need for a solution to my back pain and tired feet. So much for being on the go almost seven days a week! I heard they have premium service and I did not hesitate because I really need this pampering.
Jasmine Therapeutic Spa is not their first branch according to the owner, they have been in the business for a long time and they surely know their stuff.
It was actually recommended by my friend who happens to be living in Quezon City as well. As they say, word-of-mouth is the best form of advertising.
The spa is located in front of the AMA building which is exactly where I got off from the PUV I took and it wasn't a hassle to reach. I had to remove my shoes and wear the provided slippers most probably to maintain cleanliness of the place. Upon entering, the attendant greeted me with a warm smile. The waiting area has two green canvass sofas with magazines on the side, the temperature of the room is quite cool and the place looks new judging by the paint of the walls that are painted white and lavender. The rooms are lit with Himalayan salt lamps and the scent of the room was pleasant due to the air humidifier/purifier. They have done a great job maintaining order and tidiness. Plants give a relaxing feel and the attractive, minimal decoration on the walls makes the room classy. It was not noisy at all even though it is located beside the highway since the glass doors eliminate sounds outside. The place itself is not too big but enough for three rooms with a single and couple rooms so partners can still bond while having their relaxation.
There I was on super comfy reclining leather chair ready to try try something new. I availed of the Foot relexology and back massage. The usual service I get for my feet is gentle and soothing but this was equally satisfying.
At first I was surprised but then I have adjusted after a few minutes. It started with a foot massage with oil applied and spread on my feet. The pressure of the knuckles applied by the licensed massage therapist will really get to you. I can not help but close my eyes when deep pressure is applied but it was all worth it.
After that, I had a deep pressure massage for my back. It was followed by application of hot moist packs on my arms and back which lasted for about 20 minutes. As a Physical therapist, I am not new to this procedure but honestly, I have never tried it. I never knew how my patients felt back then. The warmth was just right and is similar to the comfort of having a warm bath. At the same time there were electrodes placed at the skin of my back to give some therapeutic Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS or TNS). It is the use of electric current to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes.
