Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” Confucius once said.
Ice cream Burger

In my part, having to roam around the metro to search and review food is the most satisfying job of all. I had the chance to visit Adventure food park on November last year and got to see what they offered. Click here to check out the article. It was an awesome experience, to say the least. We were once again invited to see the latest addition to their menu specifically by The Family Matters food stall which is now renamed as Blisteaks Food House. Bliss means happiness + Steaks which equals happiness. Sounds redundant to me :)

Blisteaks Food House has a wide variety of dishes and has come up with great additions which are Pasta, Rainbow Nachos, Ice cream burger, and for the drinks: fresh Mango and Lemonade.

Filipino spaghetti

Lasagna

Lasagna Roll

Carbonara

Filipino spaghetti is often served with a distinct, slightly sweet yet flavorful meat sauce. usually containing ground pork or beef and diced ham and hot dogs. Blisteaks got the formulation just right. You can order it with a sunny-side up or hard boiled egg. Lasagna and the Lasagna roll differs in appearance but tastes the same and also has that bit of sweet taste. Carbonara has extra creamy white sauce topped with Ham and Bacon. Crispy Bacon just made my day.

Rainbow Nachos

Their colorful Nachos are not only pleasing to the eyes but also organic which is perfect for the health-conscious individuals.

Ice Cream Burger. What??? Here's the deal: Three scoops of pre-selected flavor Selecta ice cream, a mixture of homemade pork and beef patty, slices of White onions, tomatoes, and sandwiched between sesame topped burger buns. Salty and sweet.  Yes it sounds weird but trying it out is rewarding. A first in our country perhaps? The owner of Blisteaks Food house stall made sure she tries everything in their menu and it should pass quality check.

Lasagna Roll - P125 Lasagna - P99/P125 Filipino Spaghetti - P99 Rainbow Nachos - P155/299 Carbonara - P99 Burger Ice Cream with Belgian fries -P99/188

Regular size Ribs

At the ground floor of Adventure food park is Kanto ribs which opened this January of 2017.  The barbeque flavored meat was extra tender and falls of the bone. The regular size serving is good for more than one person.

Regular size - P119 with one cup of rice
Large size - P249 with two cups of rice
XL  -  P599 with four cups of rice and drinks.

Verdict: There was live acoustic performance while we were enjoying our food which made our stay better. It was a hot day and having more fans installed on the food park could be worth noting down. Carbonara is a must-try. Personally, I like the original Italian taste of spaghetti sauce rather than sweet.  Their Spaghetti and Lasagna has just the right sweetness to it and the additional egg to the spaghetti is something my taste buds appreciated. If you are ready to try something new then Ice cream burger is the answer. I heard that students are the majority of the brave ones to go for it. Being health conscious, I can recommend the rainbow Nachos and the freshly squeezed Lemonade and Mango drinks. If you're up for ribs then don't hesitate to order from Kanto ribs. Steaks are priced reasonably compared to other high-end steakhouses. A 5 out of 5 overall for pasta, Nachos, and ribs. 4.5 for the Ice cream burger just because I am hoping for more flavors of ice cream for my picky palate. Rocky road (with marshmallows!) and Double dutch perhaps? Don't get me wrong, the mixture of pork and beef burger patty was tasty and the onions and tomatoes were fresh and crisp. Also, I am looking forward to having the original Italian sauce for the pasta available.

How to get there: Ride the LRT2 and go down at the Gilmore station. Walk towards the opposite side of St. Paul University just a few minutes away from the stop. You can't miss the huge brightly-lit sign that says Food park in front.

The craze on Food Parks is now widespread and Marikina is the place that offers an array of food stalls. #Foodtrip Marikina is the newest  food park that caters delicious food at an affordable price.

#Foodtrip is well-lit and ventilated unlike other food parks that can be a bit congested. When we first arrived at the location the first thing that I noticed was the huge tree in the middle with the name of the food park. For the generation X and Xenialls, it will remind you of Batibot.  The design of the whole park is like a maze with its cobbled stone steps plus it has picturesque wall art. The tables are wide space apart so it is easier to move plus it has  umbrellas for those unexpected rainy nights.

Sonyarita

The name itself is derived from Mrs. Sonya who is the wife of the owner of the stall. This is the first branch of Sonyarita and I do hope they open a branch at Quezon City soon. The owner made sure that every ingredient used is high quality.

Spam Fries

This is one of my favorites and would definitely go back for this. Spam and fries has always been my comfort food so combining them together makes one tasty treat. This can also be enjoyed by kids as it is not too salty and generous amount of spam was used.

Pan grilled beef

The beef is tender and easy to cut and drizzled with the flavorful gravy. The rice is in a small casserole, the serving is good for two if you and your companion are not that hungry.

Boodle Platter
The Boodle platter consists of Mozarella pops, Cheddar cheese fries and Spam sticks. Cheddar cheese fries combined with the smoky flavor of the sausage becomes one delightful surprise. The Mozarella pops can be a bit overwhelming on its own that is why I combine it with Canadian bacon.

Canadian bacon
The bacon is crisp and not that salty which adds a flavorful punch to the Mozarella pops.

Drinks
Sonyarita offers a selection of refreshing drinks. The first one that I tried is the Cucumber Lemonade, this is ideal for hot summer days. The second drink is the gummy bear that quenched my thirst and this would be hit among kids and millennials as it was not that sweet.

Dessertified

This stall offers Instagram worthy milkshakes. The selection ranges from different chocolates, Oreos, and  typical fruit flavors.

Strawberry Milkshake

This dessert did not disappoint on aesthetics . It was eye popping and enticing at the same time. It tasted like the candy Monami, not too sweet and the milk does not overpower the strawberry flavor.

Cookie Monster
A generous amount of Oreos is used on this drink. It is sweet and  satisfying and what I love about it is you can still taste the cookies that is used. This is a tad bit too minimalist on the aesthetics among the three drinks.

Chocolate Overload
The appearance is so enticing with generous amounts of three bite-sized chocolates presented on top. The milkshake itself is not too sweet and complemented the elements that is on top to balance it out.

El Viraz Urban Grill

Derived from the owner's name: Ms. Elvira. The stall itself looks like a set of an old western film set .  They do have a unique way to serve their barbeque and that is hanging on a steel stick.

The stall offers a wide range of grilled food for your cravings.

Quespada stick of pork
The meat was tender and grilled to perfection, it was a melt in your mouth goodness especially when dipped on their sauce.

Overall experience

If you are looking for a relaxing place where there's trees and greens and not crowded, then #Foodtrip Marikina is the right spot.  It is not your usual-looking foodtruck, but, being unique does not mean it's not good. It's rather spacious, comfortable, and being around nature makes the dining experience better because of the fresh air. Average priced, wide array of fantastic food will make you want to come back.
