This June to July, East Metro turns purple as SM Malls in the East invite all ARMYs to join the Welcome to BorahaEAST celebration — the biggest fandom event of the year - happening from June 13 to July 9 across 7 SM malls: SM City Marikina, SM City Masinag, SM City San Mateo, SM Center Antipolo Downtown, SM City Taytay, SM Center Angono, and SM City East Ortigas.
Launched under SM Supermalls’ Extra Exciting East regional campaign and the nationwide SM Fandom initiative, Welcome to BorahaEAST is a tribute to the music, message, and global impact of BTS. This multi-mall celebration gives fans the chance to connect, express their love for BTS, and create unforgettable purple memories through curated activities designed especially for the ARMY community.
What to expect: A full month of purple magic

SM Center Sangandaan is all set to host an event that promises a wagging good time for pets and their owners alike as the mall celebrates World Animal Day. On October 4, the mall will transform into a haven for furry friends, featuring a range of engaging activities and partnerships with notable pet enthusiasts and local pet businesses.
The festivities at SM Center Sangandaan will commence with a pet blessing ceremony, where pets and their owners can receive blessings for health and happiness. At the heart of this event is a Corgi Meet that will bring together corgi enthusiasts and their adorable companions. Biggie_thecorgi, a social media sensation, will be present to host the gathering, making it an unforgettable day for Corgi lovers and their four-legged companions. This delightful gathering of corgis promises to be a heartwarming spectacle, showcasing the charm and playfulness of these adorable furballs.
For the health and wellness of our furry companions, SM Center Sangandaan has teamed up with NCE Sangandaan Animal Clinic to offer pet anti-rabies vaccination, deworming, and check-up services. The experienced professionals from NCE Sangandaan Animal Clinic will be on-site to ensure that each pet receives the care they deserve.
To add a dash of culinary delight, the mall has partnered with The Little Paw Partissier to present an exclusive Pet Buffet. From scrumptious treats to specially crafted meals, this culinary experience will pamper pets with a delectable assortment of flavors, sure to have tails wagging in approval.
The celebration doesn't end there! Pet Games will also be the highlight of the event, providing entertainment for both pets and their owners. The simple things in life are oftentimes taken for granted. To some people, tangible objects like clothes, bags, or shoes are normal commodities that they can easily buy and eventually dispose of at will. Meanwhile, millions of people around the world, specifically children, walk barefoot as they lack financial resources to avail themselves of decent footwear.
According to a 2017 article by William Blischke, an American Sociology professor at the California State University Dominguez Hills, 14% of the earth’s inhabitants lack shoes or have inadequate footwear. He adds that in some developing countries, shoeless children cannot attend school because they may communicate and contract diseases from their foot sores. This is why some international non-profit organizations claim that shoes, or the lack thereof, are one of the most visible signs of poverty.
In the Philippines, there is no available academic study that justifies Filipino children’s actual lack of shoes. However, this phenomenon can be substantiated by the 2023 report of the Department of Education, which states that one of the most pressing issues in the basic education system is the lack of access to resources. Since school shoes are an integral part of a student’s uniform even in public schools, it will be difficult for less-privileged families to purchase them. Thus, leaving children with no choice but to either use their old and ill-fitting shoes, or worse, walk barefoot – just to complete their education.
This is the challenge that the SM Store intends to address through the Share Shoes campaign – to provide school shoes to the poverty-stricken students of the Philippines. In line with the celebration of SM’s 65th founding anniversary and through the help of its dedicated customers and partner-organizations, SM Store aims to donate more than sixteen thousand (16,000+) pairs of shoes to the last-mile schools and communities in the country. With a minimum of Three Thousand Pesos (P3,000) single-receipt-spend at any SM Store, a customer is entitled to donate a pair of shoes, which originally retails for P299, for only Sixty-Five Pesos (P65.00) and shall be considered as a Share Shoes Champion.
In a statement, Mr. Dhinno S Tiu, Executive Vice President of SM Store, exemplifies the value and symbolism of shoes for both SM and its advocacy to support the community:
“Shoes have been the core of our business for over 65 years. Thus, giving out thousands of shoes to the Filipino children who need them the most through the generosity of our customers, is a symbolic gesture of our commitment to continue to live the legacy of sharing and giving back to our partner communities.”
More than a material donation, SM Store hopes that these pairs of shoes would help the children’s journey towards a better life. Through a simple act of giving, these underprivileged children will be able to learn, play, and flourish in school. And by protecting their young feet, time will come when they can confidently step, walk, run, and even leap towards their individual goals and dreams.

From record-breaking chapters, and awe-inspiring anime episodes up to the trending live-action series, 2023 is surely the year for One Piece fans! The well-loved anime franchise illustrated by Japanese creator Eichiro Oda has been stirring the world for decades because of its meticulously crafted geopolitical plotline, influential characters, and intricately designed world-building. With this massive influence, SM North EDSA, in collaboration with Toei Animation Enterprises and Funko, launches the third run of Animezing North featuring One Piece.
Here are the things fans can expect in this year’s Animezing North!
Giant Luffy
A 21-foot-tall Giant Straw Hat Luffy from Toei Animation Enterprises will be the centerpiece of the setup. This inflatable has been on tour in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia; now Filipino One Piece fans will surely be amazed as it comes here in the Philippines for the first time.
Photo walls
The setup area will be filled with five exciting photo walls from iconic scenes and characters for fans to enjoy. Fans can take their photos inside the Thousand Sunny, Pirates’ Wanted Posters, Pirate Flag, the deck of the ship, and even the other members of the Straw Hat crew.

SM City Grand Central welcomed eager job seekers and enthusiastic employers to the special job fair held recently at the 5th level of the mall. The event provided a valuable opportunity for job seekers to secure employment ahead of the Christmas rush while enabling companies to strengthen their workforce to meet the heightened demand during the festive season.

The job fair attracted a wide range of potential employees from various backgrounds and skill levels, offering more than 3,733 job positions. Given the upcoming increase in customer demand during the holiday season, 41 organizations from various industries participated in the job fair.

From retail giants to companies in hospitality, logistics, and service providers, the fair showcased a broad mix of job offerings, with positions ranging from sales associates, customer service representatives, warehouse staff, administrative professionals, to management roles.
Preliminary results showed that at least 237 job seekers were hired on the spot, while 725 qualified applicants will be processed for hiring.

Celebrate the cherished bonds between generations as SM Bulacan malls pay tribute to our beloved Lolo and Lola on Grandparents’ Day.
To mark the celebration, SM malls in Baliwag, Marilao, and Pulilan put the spotlight on senior citizen entrepreneurs and the inspiring stories behind their thriving local businesses through a selling exhibit dubbed as Seniorpreneur Bazaar.
Local enterprises exhibiting at SM City Marilao showcase a diverse range of products, including comfort food and healthy snacks. Shoppers may also find here fashion accessories and unique gift items from local brands such as Jun and Mila’s Burdahan.
SM City Baliwag, on the other hand, gathered locally made products, delicacies, and other local players all in one venue. This includes Bulacan’s famous Bibingka ni Ka Rick and Derick’s Bonsai Art for the green-thumbed.
Meanwhile, arts and crafts are on display at SM Center Pulilan’s Seniorpreneur Bazaar. Intricate creations from Pulilan Handicraft and export-quality souvenirs from Dan & Espie are the products popular among shoppers.
Shoppers can explore and find a delightful array of both food and non-food items at Seniorpreneur Bazaar until September 10 at SM malls in Baliwag, Marilao, and Pulilan.
