In line with its global rebranding, Havas PR Philippines becomes part of the Merged Media micro-network
As
creative and media agencies face a near-daily redefinition of their
identities and scopes of work in the modern media landscape, public
relations agencies in particular are being completely reconstructed.
How can PR companies adopt at the pace of today’s lighting-speed
multimedia landscape?
Havas
Group, with its shared Merged Media strategy, announced that it has
rebranded a number of its award-winning PR and social agencies
including its Manila office under a new name, Red Havas. Through
Merged Media, the micro-network reimagines the way it does PR and
drives its agencies to new heights by blending
traditional and digital publishing, content, social media, and data
in a way that defines the future of PR as a category.
Red
Havas’ office in Manila, Philippines is part of leading
fully-integrated
media and creative agency, Havas Ortega (HVO). Under
the tutelage of Business Director Charisse Vilchez, Havas PR Manila
will now be Red Havas Philippines, along with other Asia
Pacific-based Red Agency networks in Australia, Singapore and Havas
PR North America with offices in New York City, New England, Phoenix
and Pittsburgh. In addition, Red Havas has rebranded its Havas PR
offices in Vietnam and Jakarta, Manchester, Edinburgh and opened a
new office in London. The new brand has expansion plans to Japan and
South America within 18-24 months.
“Havas
Ortega welcomes the rebranding of our PR team to Red Havas. The
current team is more than ready to take on the challenge and bring PR
to the next level. Red
Havas Philippines, together with its passionate and incredible
REDsters, will help create our clients’ brand stories through
Merged Media,”
said HVO Chief Executive Officer Jos Ortega. “I
am confident that with Char’s experience working in two strong
online brands OLX and Agoda and her training at Red Havas in
Australia, we will be able to live up to our
ambition of owning Merged Media in the local scene.”

The
rebranding coincides with global-led investments into data, content
and bespoke insight tools, which will include listening and
predictive analytics platforms that will layer in a foretelling media
capability not seen before within the industry.
“The
guiding light of PR has always been to integrate brands or
organizations stories into the daily conversations of the media
ecosystem,”
said James
Wright, global chairman of the Havas PR Collective and global CEO of
Red Havas. “PR
is one of the most powerful tools that brands can use to connect to
audiences, but it’s essential that it integrates seamlessly across
content types and sources and operates at the pace, and in the ways,
of today’s consumer. With content, social and predictive data at
the core, we’ve built a model that merges all of the various media
sources and essentially redefines the PR capability entirely.”
Commenting
on the global rebranding, Yannick Bollore, CEO and chairman of Havas
Group, said: “Red
Havas is a new, transformational and unmatched micro agency network
that will help redefine PR and its value to clients. Along with the
power of Havas Group and the world-class entertainment capabilities
we have within Vivendi, the proposition of merged media becomes very
interesting. We have big ambitions to develop and invest in this
further.”
Red
Havas is part of the Havas PR Global Collective, the PR and
communications arm of the Havas Group that comprises approximately 40
agencies around the world and more than 1,300 employees. At this
stage, there are no plans to rebrand other Havas-owned PR agencies.
What do we really talk
about when we talk about the future of learning? We talk about today,
what is happening now, and how our decisions today will affect the
next generations of young learners.
There is no discussion of
how the field of education has been undergoing a radical
transformation without first acknowledging that the 4th Industrial
Revolution is here, and that we have to face its challenges together.
Its effects have shaped and defined the practices and theories that
we share and develop as stakeholders of education to help raise the
Whole Child: we acknowledge the importance of a holistic perspective
when it comes to health, we make sure that our schools are safe and
open learning environments, we rethink the ways with which we engage
the new generation of learners, we strive to create a holistic
learning community, and we do our best to prepare young learners for
the challenges that our world faces today.
Holistic education is a
way for teachers, parents, and the communities supporting young
learners to help raise them by nurturing their innate gifts and
talents in a balanced and conscious manner that lets them grow as
responsible individuals, whole persons who understand their role in
helping our nation face the challenges of the 4th Industrial
Revolution.
Today, there are problems
and challenges that we face which didn't exist before: technological
advances bring forth new ways of doing things, but they also bring a
slew of concerns over new forms of harassment and harmful effects
from too much exposure. With this in mind, help emphasize the
importance of physical and mental health in 21st century education:
that is to say, we connect a young learner's sound mind with a
healthy body, to help them grow and adapt with how the world has
changed, fostering positive relationships in the learning community
and making sure that they are in safe, secure, caring and loving
environments.
Yes, we have acknowledged
time and again that the world is changing, and with it, the young
learners of today are, too. Their set of basic needs now includes
instant and reliable access to the internet, dependable devices that
sustain their digitally immersed lives. With this reliance came a
shift in certain aspects of the path to holistic learning which
needed adjustments and new forms of intervention that would remain
relevant in today's dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced learning
environments. This meant engaging the not just the new generation of
learners by motivating and stimulating their curiosities outside of
what they're accustomed to, but also connecting with and engaging
learning professionals who support the learners with a holistic
approach to education.
We do this by
complementing what we already know with what we can apply through
patient and persistent practice: helping and supporting everyone in
the process of learning from teaching professionals to students and
the community around them to become equipped for the 21st century. By
immersing and engaging professionals in the education sector with
results-oriented and research-based learning programs, we help them
understand the relevance of their work towards sustaining the Whole
Child initiative.

At REX, we strive to
bring quality learning solutions that step up to the challenges and
demands of education in the 21st century. We help teachers, schools,
parents, and learning communities prepare and nurture the young
Filipino learner for a better future: one that is built on values of
human connection and social justice, one that pushes forward
progressively with critical thinking grounded with careful

We believe that preparing
the young Filipino learner means finding a common ground, a common
space to share and grow together. With the Whole Child initiative, we
hope to bring a sustainable and holistic approach towards education
in the 21st century.

Allianz Philippines is the only non-pharmaceutical company that received the award for its support to the advocacy on building awareness about cardiovascular health. |
MANILA, Philippines -- Allianz Philippines recently received a presidential citation from the Philippine Heart Association (PHA) for staunchly supporting its advocacy projects geared toward creating awareness and lay education about cardiovascular health. This is the second year that the company received the award. It is the only non-pharmaceutical company to have done so.
“The numbers are alarming when it comes to the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. Angina, for one, has caused 17.3 million deaths each year. As a company that advocates health protection, we consider it our duty to do our share in promoting awareness about heart health,” said Gae Martinez, Allianz Philippines chief marketing officer, who received the award on behalf of the company during the 50th PHA Annual Convention at the Conrad Hotel in Manila.
Allianz Philippines was the Official Life Insurance Partner of the PHA in its celebration of Heart Month last February. For two years running, the company has also been the PHA’s partner for its Camp Braveheart. Conceptualized in 2007, the program seeks to encourage children who were born with heart disease and have undergone surgery to live a normal life like other kids. During the said event, Allianz conducted a financial literacy exercise for the participating kids’ parents.
Also, last February, Allianz Philippines sponsored the PHA’s Heart Fair in Tacloban as well as the launch of their Angina Awareness campaign in K. Kangleon, Palo, Leyte. Angina is one of the symptoms of coronary heart disease and is the world’s number one killer, according to the World Health Federation. Cardiovascular disease is now considered an epidemic that is projected to cause 52 million deaths in 2030 unless measures are taken.
Allianz and the PHA have, likewise, partnered in a nationwide Health Caravan that went to the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Cebu, and Manila. PHA doctors delivered lectures educating bankers and agents about angina and the 502100 campaign, which encourages people to live a healthy active lifestyle.
More recently, Allianz and the PHA launched the Fit Heart Minute videos, which aims to teach Filipinos to be more active. They consist of one-minute exercise videos featuring Dr. Rey as well as fitness coaches and TV host Jim and Toni Saret.

What is Red Bull Reign?
Red Bull Reign made its official debut in the Philippines in 2017. Since its launch, Reign has grown to become one of the top street basketball tournaments in the country. - Games will take place back-to-back on opposites halves of the court
- The first team to score 21 points or leads after 10 minutes win the match

The 2019 global finals take place this August in Toronto, Canada. This change in pace will mark a first in the competition’s history, after witnessing back-to-back final tournaments in Washington D.C., USA! Participating countries include:
- Belgium
- Canada

- Lithuania
- Montenegro
- Netherlands
- Philippines
- Russian Federation

Jun Manuel, PCPPI Vice President for Legal, Government, and Corporate Affairs; Monique Castro, Senior Manager for Corporate Affairs and Communications; and Gutzee Segura, PepsiCo Marketing Manager with this year’s TeenSpeak champion, Team TeenSiPeak holding their grand prize check; and UP AdCore’s TeenSpeak Project Lead, Bianca Aquino ) |
After weeks of grueling competition, Team TeenSIPeak composed of 5 Business Administration students from University of the Philippines-Diliman emerged as the champion of this year’s TeenSpeak finals.
TeenSpeak, the annual inter-university idea generation competition is spearheaded by the University of the Philippines’ Advertising Core (UP AdCore) student organization. This year, it partnered with Filipino bottling firm Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) in running its 10th year derby.
“Engaging with young minds is very important for us in PCPPI,” said Samudra Bhattacharya, PCPPI President. “What the youth does today tells us where we will go tomorrow. Their unbiased and undiluted thoughts on how we can innovate our business is the best part of working with them.”
Titled “Start with a Sip”—a play on Isip, the Filipino word for think—the competition challenged the students’ strategic skills in coming up with creative plans to relaunch Pepsi as a multifaceted Filipino brand.
“By partnering with Pepsi, the competition empowered college students to think out of the box, to strive for growth, and to inspire one another to craft ideas that could change the world,” said Bianca Aquino, Project Lead for TeenSpeak.
“In the 24 years I’ve been working, the level of change in the market and society has been enormous. The entire shaping of the world all happened through two generations of mankind and it is the youth who influenced the way the world thinks now,” said Bhattacharya. “This ultimately says collaborating with the younger generation pushes everything forward. The companies of the future, products, consumption trends are all determined by the youth.”
TeenSipeak was one of the top seven teams that stood out from hundreds of participants from all over the country competing to develop their best branding and marketing ideas through boot camps and mentorship sessions with PCPPI and PepsiCo executives. Advancing to the immersion leg of the contest along with other finalists, TeenSipeak was given exclusive access to PCPPI’s Muntinlupa facilities and an exclusive session with no less than the President of PCPPI, Mr. Bhattacharya.
Addressing the participants of TeenSpeak, Bhattacharya emphasized the power of young minds, ingenuity, and inherent passion.
“My personal mantra that I want to impart to you is do everything to the best of your abilities, in whatever you do. You may have different levels of capabilities, but each of us can do our best and derive meaning, not to mention happiness and satisfaction, in whatever we do our best in,” concluded Bhattacharya.
